Basketball legend, author, coach, and actor (not to mention Twitter superstar @kaj33) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is poised to launch his new documentary film based on his best-selling book entitled “On the Shoulders of Giants.”
The film On the Shoulders of Giants (trailer is available here.)
showcases the astounding outburst of creative energy known as the Harlem Renaissance, and tells the story of the Harlem Rens, a team that came from the heart of it, and was “the greatest basketball team you never heard of.”
On Saturday January 23rd, at 2 p.m., we’ll be talking with Kareem about how he uses Twitter to engage with his fans. And how Twitter helps him raise awareness of his various projects, including his charity, the Skyhook Foundation.
We’ll also get sneak peek at scenes from On the Shoulders of Giants and get a chance to meet Emmy award winning actor Beau Bridges who narrates the film. Joining them will be the film’s producer and director, Deborah Morales.

Hey Kareem,
Look forward to your new documentary…….I read “Giant Steps” when it was written and I was in College (at the time I believe)…..I remember enjoying it, and will probably read it again……Glad you’re still involved with the NBA
Looking forward to this documentary..Mark Wawro, Houston atty who had a dinner party for you in Houston will be at Sundance. Am forwarding this to him. Am so proud of your efforts with this production and this may be your best. Take care of yourself.(I have Giant Steps on my nightstand still). BTW Mr Wawro has founded the Houston Film Festival. This documentary could really take off in Houston should you all meet. There are many ways to market it in this city per Wawro.
Hi, Mr.Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. My Classmate and I are doing a project on you. Maybe if you have some time to spare, would you not mind either getting in touch with me on a chat on my e-mail at Yungdanny69@aim.com. Or if we can meet and speak about your life. The interenet provides much information we need but meeting you and interviewing you in person would be much more delightful. Thank you, have a nice day. Bye
P.S. My Family and I are Big Fans.
Sincerely,
Danny Napolionello
Hey Big K……….check it out. It will help you and many of others.
