Twitter Conference Core Themes

by Steve Broback on March 13, 2009

To help set direction for our development of sessions, we’ve established seven core themes that we are aligning the conference editorial to. Here they are:

  • Application Development
  • Community Building
  • Twitter Tactics: Do’s, Don’ts, and Best Practices
  • Monetizing the Twitter Platform
  • Analytics and Visualization
  • Top Tools and Services
  • The Real-Time Web: Issues and Opportunities

We’d love comments, especially from our current attendees and speakers as to how they would prioritize (or enhance) this list.

This list seems very “how to”.

How about discussing the social impact of social networking upon the way we communicate and relate to each other in a global society? How it brings people together across divisions of country, class, gender, race & occupation. There are larger questions that seem more or just as important as developing the latest Twitter application.

I think this set of themes feels right, particularly as a social media marketer within a large, public company (Intuit). In fact, we’ve been on an amazing journey in the “real-time web” across our businesses, and we’d be happy to share what we’ve been learning, both with internal teams and with our Twitter community. Working title – “Welcome to the New Normal.” Let me know if there’s interest.
